YONECO is participating in this year’s National Agriculture Fair (NAF) which is currently underway at Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre.
The official opening ceremony of the Fair was held yesterday and it was presided over by the President of the Republic of Malawi, His Excellency Dr. Lazurus Chakwera.
We have set up our stand in side the COMESA Hall where we are showcasing our various agricultural interventions that are aimed at promoting the welfare of the youth, women and children in Malawi.
Among other interventions, YONECO is showcasing activities that are aimed at making agribusiness attractive to the youth thereby empowering them economically. We also provide support to young people who are living positively with HIV. The youth are supported with various agricultural interventions for them to enhance their nutritional status and economic wellbeing.
A number of young people in Ntcheu and some districts have been supported with farm inputs and technical support to achieve this objective.
This year’s NAF which has been organized by Malawi Confederation of Chambers Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) is being held under the theme; Building the agricultural sector back and better in a COVID-19 environment.
Apart from covering the event live on YFM, YONECO Cultural Troupe also engaged participants through a drama performance and a traditional dance.
